It´s no secret in the auto industry that synthetic motor oil can provide superior protection over standard petroleum based motor oils. Given that both synthetic and petroleum based oils are changed at the proper intervals either one will yield sufficient protection for your engine in all conditions. The key here is changing your oil at proper intervals, you must be prompt. Running any oil past its peak will result in a lot of contamination build-up in your oil. These contaminates come from many sources and instead of boring you with the details I will just tell you that accelerated internal engine wear and irreversible damage to your engine is the result.

Our personal oil change intervals are 2,500 to 3,000 miles for petroleum-based oils and 5,000 to 7,500 miles for synthetic. These intervals vary with driving and climate conditions.
