The following is a list of tips that will help you enjoy a safe comfortable trip, especially if you have a family:
Wear loose clothes that breathe well, cotton tee shirts and shorts are fine
Wear shoes that breathe well or sandals

Bring a roll of paper towels and glass cleaner. Clean windows and glasses are a must on a long trip

Know the condition of your spare tire, know where your locking hub cap and lug nut key are in your vehicle.
Take all necessary phone numbers, insurance papers, etc.
Pack a flashlight with fresh batteries for convenience and emergencies.
Keep your fuel tank as full as possible to help avoid vapor locking. A spare gas cap key is also a good idea.
