As a consumer-friendly auto repair facility it is our job to advise our customers on the most cost effective professional repairs and give them the solid understandable explanations that they need to make sound decisions on their vehicle repairs. With the exception of intermittent and "No Code" engine drivability concerns we can guide our customers to the proper repair with minimal inspection and diagnostic time.
The most time consuming problems that channel through our diagnostic bays are the intermittent and "No Code" engine drivability problems. Intermittent problems are complicated because they will usually not occur during the diagnostic process. If a vehicleÕs data stream looks normal at the time of diagnostics our options to repair can be limited at best. "No Code" problems are hard to isolate because in these cases the vehicle´s data stream will show that all systems are operating normally even though the drivability problem may be occurring on a regular basis.
In either case the cost of diagnosis will be elevated due to the fact that it will be time consuming for even the best diagnostic technician to isolate and repair the problem.
In the customer´s best interest we will always be willing to diagnose any drivability problem with a smile but be aware that you may very well be able to save yourself money before bringing your vehicle in need of diagnostics in to us. Upon check-in of a drivability problem our friendly service writer will ask some very specific questions about the problem, how it occurs and under what conditions it occurs.
On the spot we find that many customers are not able to relay much information about the problem, only that it just is not running right. Keep in mind that the more specific the information you give us the easier it will be for us to duplicate the problem isolate it and make the needed repairs. A good analogy would be going to your doctor with pain but not being able to tell where it hurts. Isolating any given drivability problem can be done much more efficiently when the customer supplies specific information.
To help you be proactive as a customer we do have detailed diagnostic trouble shooting sheets that are available to you free of charge. Please stop by at any time and pick them up. Begin filling in the details of the simple sheets with what you know and then add more details as the problem occurs. If you are not comfortable driving the vehicle with a drivability problem then by all means just drop it off but try to think ahead of time about the problem and perhaps write down some simple notes.
