AAA is known for being innovative and friendly to their customers and the environment. They are constantly working on programs that will benefit both. Their latest programs are just a small reflection of why A Street is proud to be a AAA approved auto and collision repair facility.
The programs implemented by AAA are nationwide, so they can have a huge impact on a national basis. Here are the latest programs taking place: The Stray Battery Round Up was in full force between April 15 to 19th. Participating AAA Approved facilities became drop off sites for discarded lead acid batteries free of charge to all that wanted to contribute. We have not yet received the total number of batteries collected in this program but last year there were over 450 batteries collected and turned in for recycling. This is a fantastic program considering that many used batteries find their ways into public landfills and waterways each year. A Street collected 26 batteries in this program.
Another environmentally friendly program that AAA will be kicking off this summer is a used motor oil collection program. AAA will promote this program to all its members when it starts.
A Street would like all customers to know that we are always willing to recycle used motor oil. Our shop is heated in the winter months using a waste oil furnace. This allows us to convert waste oil into heat for our shop facility. This is an environmentally friendly practice that we have been doing for the past eight years. Any overage of used motor oil in the summer months is stored and then recycled in large quantities.
AAA has fantastic benefits for auto members and related businesses. The fact that they advocate environmentally friendly programs and implement them on a national level is definitely a positive reflection on the way AAA conducts all of its business.
